Community Service
Community service is embedded in the ethos of Hoërskool John Vorster. We believe in developing learners who are not only academically and physically capable, but who are also compassionate members of the broader community.
Our Initiatives
- Food drives and clothing collection campaigns for local communities
- Care home visits — bringing companionship to elderly residents in Nigel
- Environmental clean-up projects on school grounds and in the community
- Fundraising events for charitable organisations
Community service initiatives are coordinated through the SRC and the Life Orientation department. Learners who participate in service activities develop empathy, leadership, and a sense of civic responsibility that prepares them well for life beyond school.
