Debate and Public Speaking

Hoërskool John Vorster equips learners with two of the most powerful communication skills: the ability to debate persuasively and to speak confidently to an audience. Both programmes develop critical thinking, research skills, self-confidence, and the ability to communicate clearly and with authority.

Learners compete at school, district, and provincial level in both Afrikaans and English. Both debate and public speaking (Redenaars) teams are active, with a strong track record at provincial competitions.
