About the SRC
The Student Representative Council (SRC) is the official learner body that represents the interests of all learners at Hoërskool John Vorster. The SRC serves as a bridge between learners and school management, and plays an active role in planning school events and promoting a positive school culture.
SRC members are elected annually by their peer group and carry a significant responsibility to embody and live out the school's values.
SRC Positions and Responsibilities
- Head Boy and Head Girl — Official learner representatives of the school
- Deputy Head Boy and Deputy Head Girl — Support the head learners
- Culture Heads — Responsible for cultural events and activities
- Sports Heads — Coordinate participation in sport
- Class Representatives — Represent the interests of each grade
Election and Appointment
SRC members are elected at the end of the third term for the following year. Candidates are nominated by their peer group and must meet certain academic and conduct requirements. For more information about the SRC election process, contact the school at info@johnvorster.co.za.
