Wellbeing and Support

We Care for Every Learner

Hoërskool John Vorster believes that the emotional and spiritual wellbeing of every learner is just as important as their academic achievements. We have several support structures in place to help learners navigate challenges and reach their full potential.

Remember: It is strong to ask for help. We are here for you.

Pastoral Care

Every learner is assigned to a pastoral care leader who serves as their first point of contact for any personal, social, or academic challenges. Our pastoral care system ensures that no learner feels alone.

  • Personal support through trained pastoral care teachers
  • Regular one-on-one conversations where needed
  • Parental involvement in support processes
  • Referrals to professional help where necessary

Psychological and Counselling Services

The school has access to an educational psychologist or counselling services. Learners who need counselling can contact their teacher or the school office for a referral. All conversations are handled with absolute confidentiality.
